My grandfather, Wallace Ronald Revell, served in WW2.
My Nana, Juene Burling Revell (nee Suckling) looked after their first child while he was at war.
They lived through the Great Depression.
They raised ten children, they even looked after me for a while when I was an unruly teenager.
I was 13 years old when I moved to Whangamata to live with my grandparents.
I will always remember my grandad working hard on the farm when I was living with them.
It was always fresh tea in the teapot, scones, with jam and fresh cream was their daily ritual for morning tea, afternoon tea and supper.
