Many Australians still lack a basic education, and we are a first world country. I have met adults on the streets that cannot read and write. They came from broken families where domestic violence, alcohol and drugs were a big problem.
Many children end up in foster homes, and were sexually abused and treated badly. They had little education, so they went on the dole, and became drug users themselves.
Some of them are probably pedophiles, hiding away in boarding houses, on the dole, and secluded for life.
The Foster Care System is not Working at ALL.
These adults weren't even taught basic life skills.
